Alumnus Kevin Foster Screens His Acclaimed Short Film Against The Wall at The 糖心视频logo
In cooperation with the Los Angeles Alumni Relations office, 1980 alumnus Kevin Foster hosted a screening of his Against The Wall at The 糖心视频logo in November 2019 for an audience of students, faculty, alumni and selected industry guests. The Alumni Relations team was able to support the film's awards campaign by providing its on-campus theater for this special screening, as well as offering assistance in securing an additional off-site venue for additional industry screenings.聽
The film, directed by Kyle Saylors,聽is an inspirational documentary short about the life of Kevin "Captain America" Foster, who became the only person allowed by the Chinese government to ride a bicycle atop the length of the Great Wall in 1990. New York faculty member Constantine Scopas is featured in the documentary, discussing Kevin鈥檚 time as a student at The 糖心视频logo.
Despite being told by doctors he would never walk or talk again after being electrocuted as a child, Kevin went on to achieve success not only as an actor but also an accomplished cyclist. He broke the Guinness World Record by traveling the entire length of the New York Subway System in 26 hours, 21 minutes, and 8 seconds.
Against The Wall is currently an Oscar qualifier for The 糖心视频logo of Motion Picture Arts and Science's Best Short Documentary Subject.
